Digital Signage & Menu Board Design for Glasgow, Scotland & UK Businesses

Screen content people can read in a few seconds: menu boards, promotions, campaign screens and multi-screen rollouts, from a designer who has worked on commercial screens since 2020.

I design content for screens in shop windows, bars, restaurants, gyms, clinics, receptions and public spaces. From 2020 to 2026 I was Senior Graphic Designer at Add Vision, managing screen content for live commercial environments across retail, hospitality, corporate and visitor spaces, including Glasgow Airport. Before that I spent a year in-house at Optical Express, where the work included clinic display and waiting-room screens.

Content that works as a poster usually fails on a screen. It needs fewer words, a stronger hierarchy and motion that guides the eye rather than distracting it.

What I design

Screens that get read

Digital menu boards

Categories, then items, then prices, laid out to scan fast, with your best sellers given the most space. Built to survive daily and seasonal changes without a redesign.

Promotions and campaign bursts

One message per screen, large type and strong contrast, with motion that leads the eye to the offer in the few seconds people look.

Portrait and landscape together

Both versions planned at the same time rather than one cropped from the other, so every screen in a network looks intended.

Templates for recurring content

Weekly offers, menus and events that change without a redesign, rolled out across many screens and sites without visual drift.

Waiting rooms and receptions

Screens where people look for longer, in clinics, hotels and receptions, still designed for a glance rather than a read.

A schedule, not a slideshow

Breakfast, lunch and evening offers, weekday and weekend promotions and seasonal campaigns, planned as a schedule so regulars don’t tune out.

How it works

How a digital signage project works

  1. 01

    Where the screens are

Where each screen sits, how far away people stand and how long they look, portrait or landscape, and the formats and sizes your screen system needs.

  2. 02

    Price first

You get a price and a timescale before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

  3. 03

    Design and refine

One message per screen, designed at your screens’ real sizes. You send your feedback in one place and I refine it until you sign it off.

  4. 04

    Files for your system

Delivered in the formats and sizes your screens need, ready for your signage supplier to schedule.

FAQ

Common questions

01

How much does digital signage design cost?

A static screen design starts from £150 and an animated signage advert from £350. Regular updates can be covered by monthly creative support, from £295 a month.

02

Do you supply the screens?

No. I design the content. Your screen or signage supplier handles the hardware and software, and I supply files in the formats and sizes your system needs.

03

Can you design a digital menu board?

Yes. A menu board needs a clear hierarchy: categories, then items, then prices, with best sellers given the most space, in a layout that survives daily or seasonal changes without a redesign.

04

What size should text be on a screen?

It depends on viewing distance, but screen text needs to be far larger than print. Keep to one message per screen and test it from where your customers will actually stand.

05

Can you keep our screens updated?

Yes. For businesses that change screen content regularly, signage work can be included in monthly creative support, so updates happen without a new quote each time.

06

Do you work outside Glasgow?

Yes. Screen content is delivered digitally, so I work with businesses across Glasgow, Scotland and the UK.
