Menus designed and printed by a Glasgow designer

Takeaway menus for the counter and every delivery bag, wipe-clean menus for the table, booklet menus and drinks lists, table talkers and pavement signs. Upload your own artwork or have me design it. I check every file before it’s printed, and every price includes delivery anywhere in the UK.

Menu printing prices

Menus go out of date quickly. Prices move, a dish comes off, you start doing delivery or a Sunday lunch. Most formats here start at 25 copies, so you can reprint a short run when the menu changes instead of binning a box of old ones.

I’ve designed for food brands including Campbeltown Creamery and Isle of Arran Cheddar, and for hospitality brands such as Hilton and Holiday Inn.

Menus

Menus for the table

Menus that are handled all day need heavier card, and lamination so they wipe clean.

Sizes and folds

Which menu fold do you need?

Flat
No fold. A5 or A4 printed on both sides, on paper for handouts or 350gsm card for the counter.
Half fold
One sheet folded once into 4 pages. An A4 sheet folds to A5, and an A3 sheet folds to A4, the usual size for a table menu.
Roll fold and Z-fold
One sheet folded twice into 6 panels. An A4 sheet folded to DL (99 × 210mm) is the classic takeaway menu.
Cross fold and concertina
8 panels from one sheet, for longer menus with set menus, sides and drinks.

FAQ

01

How much does menu printing cost?

Menus start from £20, with UK delivery included and no VAT to add. The price list above shows a typical order for each format, and each product page lists every size, paper and quantity with its price.

02

What’s the best paper for a takeaway menu?

150gsm or 170gsm silk is the usual choice for folded takeaway menus. It’s light enough to fold neatly and post through a door, and it holds colour well. 130gsm gloss gives a shinier finish, and 120gsm uncoated is easy to write on.

03

Can I get wipe-clean menus?

Yes. Folded card menus on 250gsm or 350gsm can have matt or soft-touch lamination, and one-sided A4 or A3 menus can have matt or gloss lamination. Lamination protects the print, so the menu can be wiped with a damp cloth between customers.

04

How many menus should I order?

Takeaway menus for the bags and the counter usually go in hundreds, and door drops in thousands, because the price per menu falls as the quantity goes up. Table menus get handled, so order one for every table with a few spare. Most formats start at 25 copies, so you can reprint when prices change.

05

Can you design my menu?

Yes. Menu design starts from £125 for a single menu, and multi-page menus and drinks lists are quoted on the number of pages. Choose “I need it designed” when you order, or send me your current menu and I’ll quote for the design and print together.

06

How do I set up artwork for a folded menu?

Supply the flat, unfolded layout as one PDF at 300dpi, so an A5 folded menu is supplied as A4. Add 3mm bleed on every edge and keep text at least 3mm inside the trim and away from the folds. I check every file and tell you if anything needs fixing before it’s printed.

07

How quickly can I get menus printed?

Printed in 3–4 working days once your artwork is approved, then delivered by tracked courier. Delivery to Glasgow, and anywhere else in the UK, is included in the price.
