Stapled booklets and brochures: common questions

How many pages can a stapled booklet have?

From 8 to 64 pages, including the cover. Page counts go up in fours to 40, then 48, 56 and 64. For more pages, a perfect bound book with a glued spine starts at 32 pages and goes up to 200.

Should I choose a heavier cover?

A cover the same as the inner pages keeps the booklet light and flexible, which suits programmes and menus. A 250gsm or 350gsm silk cover feels sturdier and protects the pages, and you can add matt or soft-touch lamination.

How do I supply booklet artwork?

Supply single pages in order, including the cover, as one PDF. Add 3mm bleed to every page, keep text 3mm inside the trim, and use 300dpi images. I’ll check the page count and order before printing.
