AI-Assisted Designer in Glasgow

Senior design judgement, AI-powered production.

I use AI to deliver more on-brand design, faster, for businesses and agencies across Glasgow, Scotland and the UK. Not AI images for their own sake: governed workflows, creative automation and campaign production with human art direction on every output.

What I offer

Where AI genuinely helps your design work

AI is most valuable where design work is repetitive, high-volume or time-critical. These are the services where it changes the cost and speed of good work without lowering the standard.

AI-assisted campaign production

One approved campaign concept, adapted into the full spread of sizes, channels and variations far faster than resizing by hand. Every variant is checked against your brand before it leaves me.

Brand-governed AI workflows

Your guidelines turned into rules an AI workflow has to follow: colours, type, tone, layout logic and what is never allowed. The result is output that stays on-brand instead of drifting.

Creative automation for repeat work

Menus, offers, product cards, social templates and screen content that change every week. I design the system once so routine updates stop costing a full design day.

AI for digital signage and screens

Screen content generated within brand rules and scheduled to displays. This is the problem VIZN AI, my own signage generation system, was built to solve.

Concept exploration and moodboards

Faster early-stage exploration so you see more directions before committing budget. AI widens the options; design judgement decides which ones are worth developing.

AI workflow consultancy for teams

For marketing teams and agencies: which tasks AI genuinely speeds up, where it creates risk, and how to set up a review process that protects quality and brand.

Proof

VIZN AI: brand rules in, on-brand screens out

I designed, engineered and shipped VIZN AI, a system that turns a brand guideline and a menu into a stream of on-brand digital signage. It compiles a locked design specification, scores every render against it and schedules approved screens to physical displays.

It is the clearest example of how I approach AI: senior design judgement encoded as rules a system has to follow, with quality control built in.

Seven-stage pipeline

From brand PDF to scheduled screen, each stage with an explicit contract.

Governed prompts

Brand, cultural and industry direction assembled into every generation, with anti-repetition logic.

Automatic QA

Every render scored against the design specification and corrected before it is used.

Production-grade

Multi-tenant billing, durable storage and a test suite of more than 1,700 tests behind the product.

Approach

How I use AI responsibly

Design judgement first

AI is a production tool, not the designer. Concepts, art direction, typography and final sign-off are done by me, with 12+ years of commercial design behind every decision.

Governed, not prompted and hoped

Brand rules are written down and enforced, and outputs are reviewed against them. That is the difference between a usable production system and a pile of AI images.

Honest about where it fits

Some work should not involve generative AI at all, such as a logo you need to own outright. I will tell you where AI saves you money and where it does not.

FAQ

Common questions about AI-assisted design

01

Do you just generate AI images?

No. I am a senior brand, graphic and digital designer who uses AI inside a designed process. AI speeds up production and variation; concepts, art direction, layout, typography and final quality control are done by me.

02

Will AI-assisted design look generic?

Not when it is governed properly. I build your brand rules into the workflow and review every output against them, so the work looks like your brand rather than a default AI style.

03

Who owns AI-assisted artwork?

Ownership of purely AI-generated material is a grey area, so for assets you need to own and protect, such as logos and core brand marks, I design them by hand. AI is used where speed and volume matter more than exclusive ownership. I explain the approach for each project before we start.

04

Is AI-assisted design cheaper?

Often, for high-volume work. Campaign rollouts, template-driven content and screen networks are where automation saves the most time. One-off brand identity work is still priced as craft.

05

Can you help my agency or in-house team use AI?

Yes. I can design AI-assisted workflows, brand-governed templates and review processes for agencies and marketing teams, or take on AI-assisted production as freelance support.

06

Do you work with businesses outside Glasgow?

Yes. I am based in Glasgow and work remotely with businesses and agencies across Scotland and the UK.
