What display design costs

Large-format artwork, including roller banners, pop-up stands, exhibition graphics, window graphics and outdoor banners, starts from £175. If the display is part of a wider campaign with flyers and social posts, a multi-format rollout starts from £250. For the cost of the displays themselves, see what an LED lightbox display costs and the roller banner prices on my print shop.

Displays I have designed

I have designed pop-up displays and stands for food and drink producers and car dealers, including Campbeltown Creamery, Isle of Arran Cheddar, a pop-up counter for Mull of Kintyre Cheddar at Scotland’s Speciality Food Show, and pop-up banners for Volvo, Suzuki and Hilton. In a busy hall you have a couple of seconds to make someone stop.

Put the message at eye level

On a roller banner, the top third is what people see over the crowd and the bottom third is often hidden behind a table or a person. Put your name and your one key message high up, keep the middle for a strong image, and do not put anything essential near the bottom.

Fewer words, bigger type

A display is read from metres away, not held in the hand. Your business name, what you do in a few words, and a web address or QR code are usually enough. Detailed information belongs in a flyer or brochure people can take away.

Getting it printed

Every display supplier has its own template, with specific sizes, bleed and hidden areas for the stand mechanism. Send me the supplier’s template and I will set the artwork up to it exactly, at the right resolution for large-format print. Whether it is for an exhibition at the SEC or a stand in your shop, the file set-up is what stops it coming back wrong.
