What stationery design costs
Brand items such as a business card, letterhead, email signature or social media template start from £125 each. If you are starting from scratch, a brand identity pack (logo, colour palette, typography and brand reference sheet) starts from £750, and stationery can then be designed to match it.
Business cards that people keep
The UK standard business card is 85 x 55mm. Keep it simple: your logo, your name and role, a phone number, an email address and your website. Everything else is optional. A heavier card (350gsm and above is common) and a clean layout say more about a business than cramming both sides with text.
Letterheads and compliments slips
A letterhead is often used digitally as much as printed, so it should work as a Word or Google Docs template as well as a print file. Include your registered business details where they are legally required, and leave plenty of space for the letter itself.
Email signatures
Your email signature is the piece of branding people see most often. I have designed email signatures for hotel brands including Hotel Indigo Glasgow, and the rules are always the same: keep it small, make sure it displays correctly in common email apps, include only the details people actually need, and avoid large images that get blocked or turned into attachments.
